     Any time is a great time at Dollar Lake if you adore the outdoors. If you came to camp Pine River Campground is a great place to do that; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Kendall Mountain. Emerald Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at, and there's pleasant hiking along the Whitehead Trail. The San Juan and Jemez Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
This lake is so wonderful. And if that's not enough there's loads
 
   more entertaining things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. A lake close by is Little Emerald Lake, and you can hit the slopes at Silverton around here. Whitewater paddling is nice on Vallecito Creek, and the Pine-Piedra Stock Driveway offers hiking at its best.
Now, you may assume that's heaps but there's even more entertaining things to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Deer Park Trail, and after
 
               a long day outdoors Lodge at Tamarron is a brilliant place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Get drenched paddling on Piedra River; Dollar Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Vallecito Campground is a nice local campground. Summertime highs at Dollar Lake generally tend to be in the 70's while nighttime lows are commonly in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's; night lows in the 0's for Dollar Lake.
It is very dried out here at Dollar Lake frequently; the wettest month of the year is typically August, that's the one that rains the most, and June is the month with the least moisture.
