Beautiful Dollar Lake has much to offer visitors. If you fancy the outdoors, you'll have a thing about Dollar Lake. Kendall Mountain is a great local ski area; don't leave Dollar Lake without first going for a hike along the Whitehead Trail. At Dollar Lake you don’t see much rainfall; most of the rain falls all through August; June is when it's the driest. The San Juan Mountains scenery is always beautiful.

| | the 70's at Dollar Lake. During the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 40's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Dollar Lake sink into the 0's. The skiing at Silverton is brilliant; you can stay the night at Vallecito Campground. A striking lake like Emerald Lake in close proximity to Dollar Lake is a glorious site to go to, and a great place for whitewater paddling | |

This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Cascade Village is a pleasant spot to spend a night or two, and there's great hiking along the Deer Park Trail. There's no way somebody can get bored here
in the San Juan Mountains. In the event that you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Piedra River. So many entertaining things to do in the San Juan Mountains, not enough time. Dollar Lake is a wonderful
site to camp, Pine River Campground is a wonderful site; tremendous hiking is available along the Pine-Piedra Stock Driveway.
