A visit to Dollar Lake is always a good idea. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not check out E Beckwith Reservoir Number 1 close to Dollar Lake; going for a hike on the Munsey Ruby Stock Driveway is always a fine adventure. At Dollar Lake all through the warm months highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. All through the winter highs are regularly in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Dollar Lake. are pleasant places to look at along the Mill-Castle Trail. Crested Butte Intl. Lodge & Hostel is a pleasant location to get some rest; a day on the slopes of Irwin Lodge is just what you need.

RV Park and General Store is a delightful campground here. Dollar Lake is a location that is relatively arid ordinarily; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is February. The panorama of pretty East Beckwith Mountain near Dollar Lake is brilliant; get your pulse rate up on the good whitewater of Crystal River.
