Dogfish Reservoir is a lake around here, and after a long day outdoors La Quinta Inn & Suites Rifle is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Goodenough Reservoir Number 2; the view of Crater Peak is pretty. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Dog Fish Lake without first going for a hike along the Monument Trail; Dog Fish Lake Dam       has great water scenery. This lake is so wonderful. This place, Dog Fish Lake, it absolutely has so much outdoors fun stuff. There's nice hiking along the East Leon Trail, and a great close by hotel is Howard Johnson Express - Cedaredge. If you come at the right time of year, Gunnison River - North Fork offers some good whitewater, and if you came to camp Weir and Johnson Campground is a magnificent place to do that. Around Dog Fish Lake you don’t get a                  lot of rainfall; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. During the long summer days here at Dog Fish Lake, high temperatures generally get into the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 50's. Highs through the winter are typically in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Dog Fish Lake are in the 0's. Go for a hike on the Elk Park Trail.
