Get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Kannah Creek, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but       if it's for you then, we recommend Kannah Creek. There's magnificent hiking along the Whitewater Basin Trail; camping at Desert Reservoir is magnificent fun, Grand Junction/Clifton KOA is a magnificent local campground. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Bax X Bench Stock Trail; if you need a spot to stay Residence Inn by Marriott Grand Junction is a splendid choice. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Desert Reservoir;                  Bar X Bench Stock Trail is a tremendous local trail, and Chipeta Golf Course is a golf course close by. While you're here at Desert Reservoir you will meet lots of people from nearby Grand Junction, and Big J RV Park is a pleasant campground here. Summertime highs at Desert Reservoir generally tend to be in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Desert Reservoir. Desert Reservoir gets very little precipitation; all through the month of August you get the most rain around here; February is the month with the least moisture.
