Many people like to go to Denny Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A perfect close by hotel is Cortez-Days Inn, and lakes are such peaceful locations, why not go to Totten Lake. Around Denny Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; the month with most of the rain is October, and June is when it's the driest. Through the warm days of summer highs here at Denny Lake get into the 80's while nighttime lows are ordinarily in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter

| | are normally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Denny Lake are in the 10's. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this location. If you're here at Denny Lake and you like golf, you can pop by Cortez City Government Conquistador Golf Course. There's so much to do here at Denny Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cortez Mesa Verde KOA is a wonderful spot for that. This lake is so wonderful. Inn Express Cortez, Co is a great choice, and close by you hit upon the Frink Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. Looking for a delightful trip? Mesa Verde National Park is pretty near Denny Lake; there's some out of the ordinary stuff to catch a glimpse of at Denny Lake Dam near Denny Lake.

 | We stayed in this campground mid-July 2006. Very efficient, friendly park. Adequate power, water, and sewage hookups. Rates were reasonable; and the manager did indicate that longer stays were discounted. Nice fenced dog run for our puppies to enjoy. The microbrewery in town has a wide selection of locally made beverages. I would gladly stop at La Mesa RV Park again.... |

Puett Reservoir
 | 10 miles away A.M. Puett Reservoir was originally constructed in 1905, and then reconstructed in 1960. It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and open for public fishing from the bank and from trolling motor powered boats. No swimming is allowed. The lake is on private land and access is limited to 3 feet above the high water line.... |

Summit Reservoir
 | 11 miles away Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed.... |
