This lake is so wonderful. Waterdog Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and there's perfect hiking along the Cebolla Trail. Deer Lakes gets very little rainfall; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while February is typically the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Henson Creek near Deer Lakes; the Bondholder       Trail offers hiking at its best. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors fun things the San Juan and Jemez Mountains has to offer. Don't leave Deer Lakes without first going for a hike along the Rough Creek Trail, and while you're here, you could also stop by wonderful Devils Lake. Deer Lakes is one of the lakes here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. So much exciting stuff to do at Deer Lakes, so little time. Canon Infierno is a brilliant site                  to discover; Slumgullion Pass Campground is a pleasant campground nearby. Having a pleasant time in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains is painless. Dry warm beds await you at The Water Wheel Inn, and Deer Lakes Campground is a pleasant local campground. There's some flowing water close by, Deer Creek is a stream you can visit while you're here, and there's whitewater on Lake Fork Gunnison River for all you adrenaline junkies. For the duration of the summer at Deer Lakes highs are ordinarily in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's.
