Deer Lakes is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. At Deer Lakes you don’t see much rain; the month with most of the rain is August, and February is the month with the least moisture. Having a glorious time in the San Juan Mountains is painless. There are some perfect whitewater spots on Lake Fork Gunnison River, and there are tremendous spots to explore along the Cebolla Trail. High temperatures at Deer Lakes through the days of summer

| | are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 30's while Deer Lakes nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the-10's.
So much exciting stuff to do here at Deer Lakes, too nice to be true. If you need a site to stay The Water Wheel Inn is a magnificent choice, and don't leave Deer Lakes without first going for a hike along the Bondholder Trail. There's whitewater on Henson | |

Creek for all you adrenaline kick people, and going for a hike on the Rough Creek Trail is always a nice adventure. This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan Mountains.
This lake is so wonderful. Since you're here
at Deer Lakes why not visit Canon Infierno, and if you came for an overnight stay Slumgullion Pass Campground is a magnificent site to camp. But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the San Juan Mountains. Why not camp at Deer
Lakes Campground if you're here at Deer Lakes, and Deer Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth a visit.
