You'll need more than a day to discover everything Deer Lake has to offer, you can camp at Bucks Campground, and Deer Lake is not the only location nearby, Island Lake is a nearby lake. That right there is plenty already, but it goes on; Deer Lake has it all. Take a hike on the South Derby Trail, and hiking along the High Trail is delightful fun. This lake is so wonderful. Deer       Lake is right by the Ute Trail, and if you need a place to stay Oak Tree Inn Yampa is a nice choice. There's so much to do here at Deer Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Trapline Campground is a pleasant location for that, and get drenched paddling on Sweetwater Creek. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Deer Lake. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's                  to Deer Lake. Not much precipitation falls here at Deer Lake; through the month of March you get the most snow around here; the driest month is June.
