Deep Ward Lake is a great site to visit for more than one day, Skyway Campground       is a great site to camp nearby, and get soaked paddling on Kannah Creek. Not much rainfall falls here at Deep Ward Lake; the month with most of the rain is October, and the driest month is January. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Powderhorn; perfect hiking is available along the Cottonwood Lakes Foot Trail. At Deep Ward Lake all through the warm days of summer highs are in the 90's; the overnight is quite cooler of course, usually in the 60's.
