Deadman Lake is not the only location nearby, Timnath Reservoir is a nearby lake, and Deadman Lake is not far at all from Fort Collins-Loveland. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Cache La Poudre River is so much fun, and camping is available at Pawnee - Arapaho National Forest. During the warm months highs here at Deadman Lake reach the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs

The river (poudre) runs along the east side of the lake so even for casual recreation or non fishing activities it is a picteresque spot.
