Dead Horse Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. For the duration of the summer months highs here at Dead Horse Reservoir reach the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Dead Horse Reservoir. Not much rain falls here at Dead Horse       Reservoir; through the month of July you get the most rain around here, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. A short spree to Dobler Spring is always worthwhile, and Herman Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could stop by. This lake is so wonderful. The Horsefly Trail is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Dead Horse Reservoir, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend San Miguel River. Take a side tour to Sheep Creek; while you're here, you could also visit scenic Logging Camp Draw Reservoir. But wait, there's more enjoyable things to do in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Antone Spring Campground is a delightful campground nearby, and nearby you discover the Cottonwood Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail.
