During the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Lake De Nolda. If you yearn for a little side trip, try Dolores Canyon; there are some good whitewater spots on Wolf Creek. Lake De Nolda gets much water; most of the snow falls during March while June is the month with       the least amount of precipitation. Lake De Nolda is located in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Hilman Lake; The Spruce Lodge is a great location to get some rest. Just can't get enough of Lake De Nolda. Stay the night at Mix Lake Campground, and you acquire a glorious panorama of Prospect Mountain from here. So much cool stuff to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, too good to be true. A magnificent close by hotel is Allington Inn and Suites, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Cascade Creek. So much amusing stuff to do at Lake De Nolda, so little time. A trip to Horsethief Park revitalizes the spirit, and if you come at the right time of year, Conejos River offers some tremendous whitewater. This lake is so wonderful.
