Darling Lake is located in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Summertime highs at Darling Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Darling Lake tend to be in the 0's. Darling Lake gets very little precipitation; July is when you get the most rain here, and February       is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. A glorious view of pretty Reade Hill is available from Darling Lake, and a pleasant nearby hotel is Southgate Inns. You truly have to have a thing about the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. There are some great whitewater spots on San Miguel River; hiking is a popular thing to do around Darling Lake; Cottonwood Trail is a perfect local trail. There's fine hiking along the Pool Creek Trail, and don't leave                  Darling Lake without first paying a visit to Box Spring. This place, Darling Lake, it simply has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. There's so much to do here at Darling Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Iron Spring Campground is a delightful place for that. During your spree to Darling Lake you'll meet some folks from Montrose for sure.
