This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Arkansas River close to Curtain Ponds; Wheeler Flats is a scenic place any time of year. West Tenmile Creek is a splendid local stream, and Curtain Ponds is a great spot to visit for more than one day, Gold Pan Campground is a great spot to camp nearby. High temperatures at Curtain Ponds through the long summer days are in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's; nighttime lows in the 0's
for Curtain Ponds. A good close by hotel is Ramada Limited Frisco, and going for a hike on the Wheeler Trail is always a fine adventure. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Curtain Ponds has to offer, you can camp at
Black Lakes Campground, and one of the dominant marks of the surroundings of Curtain Ponds is Tenmile Peak.
This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Breckenridge while you're here, and
you can go for a hike on the Miners Creek Trail. Don't leave Curtain Ponds without first going for a hike along the Wheeler Dillion Trail, and what would winter be without some skiing at Copper Mountain.
