Get yourself into a kayak and hit Arkansas River, and one of the governing characteristics of the surroundings of Crystal Lake is North Star Mountain. Crystal Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Kite Lake Campground is a glorious local campground, and this is a popular site for folks from Silverthorne. There is a splendid hiking trail right next door to       Crystal Lake called the Wheeler Trail, and if you need a place to stay Skier's Edge Lodge is a great choice. If you come at the right time of year, Tenmile Creek offers some nice whitewater, and the skiing at Breckenridge is delightful. While you're here at Crystal Lake, you could also take a look at gorgeous Blue Lakes; a splendid location to camp here at Crystal Lake is Beaver Creek Campground. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! Crystal Lake is excellent!                  Alma Inn is a magnificent spot to get some rest, and why not a little side journey to Bemrose Creek. And if you're still looking for more outdoors exciting stuff just keep reading. The Burro Trail is a splendid hiking trail close to Crystal Lake; Montgomery Dam is scenic. If the weather is good here at Crystal Lake, you can go for a hike along the Wheeler Trail, and a day on the slopes of Crested Butte is just what you need. Crystal Lake is pretty arid usually; through July this area sees the most rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. You should positively dedicate some time to Lincoln Amphitheatre since you're here at Crystal Lake, and Hoosier Pass is also a perfect site to look at. During the warm days of summer at Crystal Lake temperatures are usually in the 70's; the nighttime is a little cooler of course, mostly in the 30's.
