A good site to camp here at Crystal Lake is Tramway Campground; if you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites LITTLETON is a great choice. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Crystal Lake; Pine Ridge Trail is a nice local trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit South Platte River - North Fork. Crystal Lake is a location that is quite dehydrated generally; August is when you get the most rain here; January       on the other hand is the driest. This lake is one of the great places here in the Front Range. Good hiking is available along the Rolling Creek Trail, and Crystal Lake Dam is picturesque. Any time is a good time at Crystal Lake if you love the outdoors. Float down the rapids of South Platte River - North Fork in a kayak. Lakes are brilliant; Baehr Reservoir is a lake that's near Crystal Lake. So much amusing stuff to do in the Front Range, not sufficient                  time. Nearby Buck Gulch is a great spot to go if you're at Crystal Lake, and hey, Elk Creek is a perfect local stream. At Crystal Lake through the summertime highs are in the 70's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Crystal Lake are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. The Payne Creek Trail offers hiking at its best, and Crystal Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Buffalo Creek Campground is a good local campground. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Front Range.
