The beauty of Crystal Lake is reason enough to stop by. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Crystal Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Buffalo Creek Campground is a magnificent spot for that, and there are delightful places to discover along the Rolling Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Visit Elk Creek if you're here at Crystal Lake, unsurprisingly you could also take a look at Baehr Reservoir while you're here; it's not far

| | at all. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors cool stuff the Front Range has to offer. If you're here, you might as well take a look at Buck Gulch, and there's glorious hiking along the Payne Creek Trail. Crystal Lake Dam is not far at all from Crystal Lake, and don't leave Crystal Lake without first going for a hike along the Pine Ridge Trail. Lake is close to Crystal Lake, and Crystal Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Tramway Campground is a good local campground. A splendid nearby hotel is Quality Suites Evergreen; a fine spot for whitewater paddling

Co is a wonderful site to spend a night or two, and get your pulse rate up on the magnificent whitewater of South Platte River - North Fork. At Crystal Lake throughout the long summer days highs are in the 70's with overnight
lows in the 40's. During the wintertime the highs are typically in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Crystal Lake drop into the 0's. Crystal Lake is frequently a pretty dried up place; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is January.

 | 11 miles away 1 PHOTO I was disappointed when I realized that canoes are not allowed. But it is very beautiful and a nice place for a simple hike.... Bring your fishing net!!!! I caught a two pound smallmouth off powerbait and reeled it in on 6lb test all the way to the bank and the line snapped as I pulled it up and out of the water because I had no net.... went in July 2007, no bites. Beautiful lake though.... |
