This lake is so wonderful. Get your pulse rate up on the perfect whitewater of Lake Creek, and after a long day outdoors Delaware Hotel is a brilliant place to spend a night or two. Why not camp at Parry Peak Campground if you're here at Crystal Lake, and a lake close by is Alan Lake. Camping is available at Twin Peaks Campground; Crystal Lake is right by the Main Range Trail. | | view of Mount Blaurock from Crystal Lake, and Willis Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit. Hiking along the Timberline Trail is wonderful fun. It is very dry here at Crystal Lake usually; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Just can't get enough of Crystal Lake. really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Sawatch Range. Hit the slopes at Ski Cooper around here; a good nearby hotel is Super 8 Motel - Leadville. Summertime highs at Crystal Lake ordinarily tend to
be in the 70's while overnight lows are generally in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Crystal Lake. The Sawatch Range scenery is always beautiful. That right there is a lot
of entertaining things already but it goes on, the Sawatch Range has it all. A splendid place for whitewater paddling next to Crystal Lake is Clear Creek; why not take a refreshing hike along the Mount Elbert Trail.

It is a little more difficult now that there is no potable water, but one can use lake water for dishes, and must bring in drinking and cooking water.Fishing is great - the deer put on a show eve4ry night. The camp hostess, Mary, is there is to help you with problems, and to give great advice.Other than the water problem, this is the greatest camp ground I've ever occupied!... |
