    If you are in Routt county it's always a good idea to stop by Crowner Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Hit the slopes at Howelsen Hill nearby. Going for a hike along the Muddy Slide Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; Channing Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth checking out. Around Crowner Reservoir you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is generally March, that's the one that snows the  
   most while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Throughout the warm days of summer, highs commonly are in the 70's at Crowner Reservoir, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Crowner Reservoir drop into the 0's. Crowner Reservoir is near Crowner Dam which is a striking location without doubt worth
 
               stopping at, and if you came for an overnight stay Stagecoach is a perfect location to camp. Paddling on Piney River is so much fun, and after a long day outdoors Oak Tree Inn Yampa is a delightful place to spend a night or two.
Having a tremendous time at Crowner Reservoir is easy. If the weather is tremendous here at Crowner Reservoir, you can go for a hike along the Ute Trail, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Steamboat. Camping at Crowner Reservoir is brilliant fun, Toponas Creek Campground is a brilliant local campground, and whitewater paddling is tremendous on Rock Creek. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Crowner Reservoir you can take a hike along the Morrison Divide Trail, and if you need a location to stay Sunburst Condominiums (Vri) is a nice choice.
