This lake is one of the great places here in the Sawatch Range. Yep, outdoors fun stuff truly is plentiful here in the Sawatch Range. This lake is so wonderful. There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Eagle River, and going for a hike on the Ironedge Trail is always a wonderful adventure. During the summertime at Crooked Creek Reservoir temperatures are usually       in the 80's. Summer night lows sink down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are regularly in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Crooked Creek Reservoir. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Lake Charles; why not take a little visit to Crooked Creek since you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Near Crooked Creek Reservoir you come across the Lake Charles Trail which is a perfect hiking trail;                  get yourself into a kayak and hit Fryingpan River. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Sawatch Range. You can take a little journey to Crooked Creek Dam while you're here at Crooked Creek Reservoir, and a nice nearby hotel is The Lodge and Spa at Cordillera. Man, is there a lot of fun things to do next to Crooked Creek Reservoir. Camping at Fulford Cave Campground is always a tremendous experience, and a pleasant tour to Crooked Creek Park is a magnificent way to spend an afternoon. Corral Gulch is next to Crooked Creek Reservoir and is definitely a glorious place to take a look at, and you can go for a hike on the Last Chance Trail. After a long day outdoors Inn And Suites At Riverwalk is a good site to spend a night or two, and why not head up to Aspen Highlands and strap some skis to your feet. So many cool things to do in the Sawatch Range, not enough time. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Beaver Creek, and camping is available at Yeoman Park Campground. Crooked Creek Reservoir is pretty waterless usually; the month with most of the rain is July, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place.
