There's whitewater on White River - North Fork for all you adrenaline people. Through the warm months at Crescent Lake highs are usually in the 80's. Summer night lows dip down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's with temperatures at Crescent Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. Around Crescent Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; October       is the month that gets the most rain while January is usually the driest month. While you're here at Crescent Lake you can take a hike along the South Derby Trail, and after a long day outdoors Oak Tree Inn Yampa is a good place to spend a night or two. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. A magnificent place like Amphitheatre here at Crescent Lake is too pleasant to miss, and if you've had enough of Crescent Lake, Margaret Lake                  is nearby. There's so much to do here at Crescent Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Trapline Campground is a magnificent site for that; the panorama of picturesque Himes Peak is good. Get your heart beating on the wonderful whitewater of Sweetwater Creek; you can have a great hiking adventure along the Ute Trail. You could also explore Trappers Lake while you're here at Crescent Lake; it's close by, and hiking along the Oyster Lake Trail is magnificent fun. This lake is so wonderful.
