Not much rainfall falls here at Crater Lake; the wettest month of the year is regularly March, that's the one that snows the most while June is mostly the driest month. Near Crater Lake you discover the Ute Trail which is a delightful hiking trail, and going for a hike on the South Derby Trail is always a wonderful adventure. This lake is so wonderful.       Oak Tree Inn Yampa is a great place to get some rest; Sheriff Dam is a beautiful location. Summer at Crater Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Crater Lake temperatures sink to the 0's. And that's not all you can do here at Crater Lake. Go for a hike on the High Trail, and Crater Lake                  is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Baughn Lake Campground is a delightful local campground. Sand Creek flows through this area, and Camel Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to. This lake is so wonderful.
