     Having a great time at Crater Lake is simple. In case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio Brazos, and there's delightful hiking along the La Manga Stock Driveway. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Elk Creek Trail, and if you get bored of Crater Lake you could also explore close by Finger Lake. Crater Lake is located in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains.
Crater Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; most
 
   of the snow falls throughout March; the driest month of the year is June. All the outdoors cool stuff in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains will keep you coming back time and again. If you came for an overnight stay El Vado Lake Camping Resort is a nice place to camp, and Glacier Lakes is a nearby lake that you could go to. Throughout the warm months at Crater Lake temperatures are usually in the 60's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The wintertime  
               brings highs down to the 30's, and overnight lows through the winter for Crater Lake tend to be in the 0's.
This lake is so wonderful. The Red Lake Trail offers hiking at its best, and after a long day outdoors Branding Iron Motel is a great place to spend a night or two. Yeah, come up here to the San Juan and Jemez Mountains for a delightful time. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Jicarilla Inn & Casino. Rio Chama is a tremendous whitewater spot close to Crater Lake, and Trujillo Meadows Campground is a great campground nearby.
