This lake is so wonderful. Steamboat is a nice local ski area, and after a long day outdoors Western Lodge is a good site to spend a night or two. There is a great hiking trail near Lake of the Crags called the Crags Trail; Elk River has a perfect whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. A brilliant close by hotel is Winterwood Townhomes. So much amusing stuff in the Park Range, just remarkable.       At Lake of the Crags you can make out The Dome. Lakes? Sure, Luna Lake is close by. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Lake of the Crags, and the overnight is a bit colder of course, mostly in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake of the Crags temperatures drop to the-10's. There are splendid locations to discover along the Luna Lake Trail; if you came for an overnight stay Dry Lake Campground                  is a brilliant place to camp. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a perfect time here at Lake of the Crags. Not far from Lake of the Crags, you'll find Lakes of the Crags which is a lovely lake, and the slopes of Howelsen Hill are so inviting nobody can resist. Not much rainfall falls here at Lake of the Crags; December is the wettest month with most snow; the driest month of the year is August. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Park Range.
