     Lakes? Sure, Fish Creek Reservoir Number 1 is close by, and since you're here at Cowpuncher Lake it's a splendid idea to explore High Park. Fish Creek Reservoir Number 2 is a fine lake next to Cowpuncher Lake. There's so much to do here at Cowpuncher Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Beaver Lake Campground is a good place for that. This lake is so wonderful. Some of the water nearby flows, like Coal Creek; get soaked paddling on Cimarron River.  
   During the months of summer highs here at Cowpuncher Lake reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Cowpuncher Lake dip into the 10's.
Around Cowpuncher Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; the month of September is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. So many
 
               exciting things to do at Cowpuncher Lake, so little time. After a long day outdoors Ouray Chalet Inn is a magnificent place to spend a night or two, and do stop by High Park Lake Dam while you're here.
There is a wonderful hiking trail close to Cowpuncher Lake called the Lou Creek Trail, and Comfort Inn Ouray is a delightful location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cimarron River; the Deer Creek Trail is a glorious hiking trail nearby. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Cowpuncher Lake has to offer, you can camp at Big Cimarron Campground, and nearby you discover the Courthouse Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail.
