Cowboy Lake is a lake worth visiting. During the warm months here at Cowboy Lake, high temperatures frequently reach the 80's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's with temperatures at Cowboy Lake dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. Cowboy Lake is one of the lakes here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Do set aside some time for Cabbage Patch since you're here at Cowboy

| | Lake, and hiking along the Courthouse Trail is brilliant fun. Dry warm beds await you at St.Elmo Hotel, and hey, Fox Creek is a great local stream. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Cowboy Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Beaver Lake Campground is a glorious place for that, and if you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cimarron River. outdoors entertaining things the San Juan and Jemez Mountains has to offer. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Ouray is a great place to spend a night or two, and do take a hike on the Deer Creek Trail. And that's not all you can
do here at Cowboy Lake. Cowboy Lake is right by the Lou Creek Trail, and Silver Jack Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out. This lake is so wonderful. Cowboy Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Big Cimarron
Campground is a perfect local campground, and a wonderful spot is Lou Creek Pass. Having a pleasant time in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains is easy. What would winter be without some skiing at Silverton, and Cimarron River is
a great whitewater spot close by. Cowboy Lake is generally a relatively waterless site; the month with most of the rain is September, and the driest month is February.
