     The beauty of Cowboy Lake attracts many people from all around. The San Juan and Jemez Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Cabbage Patch is a great place, and after a long day outdoors St.Elmo Hotel is a perfect spot to spend a night or two. But wait, there's more fun things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. There's some out of the ordinary stuff to observe at Silver Jack Dam in the neighborhood of Cowboy Lake, and getting to Fox Creek from Cowboy  
   Lake is easy.
It is very dried out here at Cowboy Lake generally; during September this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February. So many amusing things to do at Cowboy Lake, so little time. The Lou Creek Trail offers hiking at its best; in the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cimarron River. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Courthouse Trail is brilliant fun, and
 
               Cimarron River has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby.
This spot is so good, just look at all the fun things to do in close proximity to Cowboy Lake. Really splendid skiing awaits you at Silverton, and if you've had enough of Cowboy Lake, Silver Jack Reservoir is nearby. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Cowboy Lake is not the only site nearby, Hanging Lake is a nearby lake, and Cowboy Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Big Cimarron Campground is a great place to camp nearby.
Cowboy Lake is right by the Deer Creek Trail, and a good place to have a look at is Lou Creek Pass. This lake is so wonderful. Comfort Inn Ouray is a tremendous place to get some rest, and Beaver Lake Campground is a brilliant campground nearby. During the summertime months at Cowboy Lake highs are ordinarily in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Cowboy Lake are in the 10's.
