Many people like to go to Cove Reservoir. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Cove Reservoir. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's; nighttime lows in the 0's for Cove Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Cove Dam is picturesque and it's in the neighborhood of Cove Reservoir, and the Bull Trail offers hiking at its best. If you haven’t been to Dinosaur National Monument,

| | you have to schedule some time for it while you're here, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Joe Trail.
You imagine that's enough? Just getting warmed up. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Jones Hole Creek; Blue Mountain Inn and Suites is a wonderful spot to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Cove Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Deerlodge Park Campground is a good site | |

for that; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Cottonwood Creek.
Yampa River is a great whitewater spot close to Cove Reservoir, and do take a hike on the Hoy Trail. Cove Reservoir is pretty waterless ordinarily; October is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is January.
