Visiting Dinosaur National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and let's not forget Cottonwood Creek which is a stream that you may encounter while you're here. At Cove Dam near Cove Reservoir there are some interesting things to see, and Jones Hole Creek is a great whitewater spot nearby. After a long day outdoors Terrace Motel is a glorious place to spend a night or two,       and you can go for a hike on the Bull Trail. Be careful coming to Cove Reservoir, you might not ever want to go back home again. If you came to camp Deerlodge Park Campground is a perfect place to do that; good hiking is available along the Joe Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Cove Reservoir; Hoy Trail is a splendid local trail, and a fine place for whitewater paddling is Yampa River. Around Cove Reservoir you don’t                  get a lot of precipitation; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain; January meanwhile is the driest month. Through the days of summer at Cove Reservoir highs are commonly in the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's.
