You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area close to Cove Reservoir has to offer. The scenery at Cove Dam near Cove Reservoir is lovely, and there's whitewater on Jones Hole Creek for all you adrenaline people. All through the summertime highs here       at Cove Reservoir get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Cove Reservoir drop into the 0's. Cottonwood Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth taking a look at, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Yampa River. You could also visit Basset Reservoir Number                  2 if you're here at Cove Reservoir; it's close by, and nearby you come across the Joe Trail which is a glorious hiking trail. If you haven’t been to Dinosaur National Monument, you must schedule some time for it since you're here; the Bull Trail is a pleasant hiking trail nearby. Cove Reservoir is pretty arid ordinarily; October is the wettest month with most rain while January is frequently the driest month.
