Log Hill Mesa is lovely and can be seen from Cottonwood Reservoir, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Uncompahgre River. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! Cottonwood Reservoir rules!. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Centennial RV Park is a tremendous local campground, and Government Springs is a picturesque place to visit while you're at       Cottonwood Reservoir. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Natural Pond, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites MONTROSE-TOWNSEND is a good place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, San Miguel River offers some great whitewater, and close by you stumble on the Spring Creek Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail. A round of golf at nearby                  Fairway Pines Golf Club is a great way to kill some time, and naturally, this is a pleasant neighborhood for people who like lakes, Hofmann Reservoir is a lake nearby. Cottonwood Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Around Cottonwood Reservoir you don’t get a lot of precipitation; through October this area sees the most rain, and February is when it's the driest.
