Cottonwood Lake is one of the lakes here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Lakes? Sure, South Colony Lakes is around here, and going for a hike along the Rainbow Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. So much amusing stuff to do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, too nice to be true. Man, is there loads of cool stuff to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains.       A great close by hotel is AppleLodge Bed And Breakfast, and camping is available at North Crestone Campground. It is very dried out here at Cottonwood Lake typically; through the month of August you get the most rain around here while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. A journey to Great Sand Dunes National Monument is worthwhile, and why not camp at Grape Creek RV Park and Campground since you're here at Cottonwood                  Lake. This place is unbeatable, just check out all the exciting things to do near Cottonwood Lake. Macey Lake is a nice lake near Cottonwood Lake, and if the weather is nice, you can go for a hike along the Marble Mountain Trail. If the weather is pretty, you acquire a delightful sight of Broken Hand Peak from Cottonwood Lake, and hiking along the Venable-Comanche Trail is wonderful fun. Summertime at Cottonwood Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and the overnight is a bit cooler of course, typically in the 40's.
