In Colorado there are many beautiful lakes, Cottonwood Lake is one of them. This lake is so wonderful. Head up to Monarch and strap some skis to your feet. Around Cottonwood Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; most of the rain falls through August, and the driest month is June. This lake is so wonderful. Be careful coming to Cottonwood Lake, you might not ever wanna go home again. Going for a hike on the South Pine Creek Trail is always a great adventure, and let's not forget Hughes Creek which is a stream that you may bump into while you're here. All the outdoors enjoyable stuff in the Sawatch Range will keep you coming back again and again. and at Cottonwood Lake you can make out Sheep Mountain. This lake is one of the great places here in the Sawatch Range.
There is a magnificent hiking trail close to Cottonwood Lake called the Horn Fork Trail, and after a long
day outdoors Best Western Vista Inn is a delightful location to spend a night or two. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sawatch Range. Fox Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore, and nearby you find the Texas Creek Trail
which is a magnificent hiking trail. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Arkansas River, and if you came for an overnight stay Colt Spring Campground is a wonderful location to camp.
Throughout the summer months at Cottonwood Lake
temperatures are ordinarily in the 70's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 30's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Cottonwood Lake are in the-20's.
