This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Inn of the Rio Grande Hotel and Conference Ctr, and do take a hike on the Loop Trail. Just can't get enough of Cotton Lake. If time allows, Great Sand Dunes National Monument is a national park worth taking a look at; if you came for an overnight stay San Luis Lakes is a good site to camp.       At Cotton Lake through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and overnight lows at Cotton Lake during the wintertime regularly fall into the-10's. You're almost certainly hooked on lakes, Head Lake is one of those nearby. At Cotton Lake you don’t see much rainfall; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily July, that's the one that rains the most, and                  January is the month with the least moisture. Arena Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth stopping at; hiking along the Music Pass Trail is great fun.
