Just getting warmed up. Very magnificent water scenery is available at Hurst Dam near Coppinger Reservoir, and if you need a place to stay Dunton Hot Springs is a pleasant choice. This lake is so wonderful. Very beautiful scenery and splendid skiing is what you get at Hesperus Ski Center; the Whites Trail is a brilliant hiking trail nearby. If you came for an       overnight stay United Campground-mesa Verda is a fine place to camp; in case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Dolores River. High temperatures at Coppinger Reservoir during the warm days of summer are in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's while Coppinger Reservoir night low temperatures throughout the wintertime                  are in the 10's. Coppinger Reservoir gets very little precipitation; March is the wettest month with most rain while June is frequently the driest month. While you're here at Coppinger Reservoir you can take a hike along the East Rim Trail, and a visit to Mesa Verde National Park is recommended.
