It's always fun to stop by Cooper Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Big Blue Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and whitewater paddling is glorious on Lake Fork Gunnison River. All year is a perfect time in the San Juan Mountains if you like the outdoors. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Kendall Mountain is in the neighborhood of Cooper Lake, and hiking along the Ridge Stock Driveway is nice fun. This lake

| | is so wonderful. Lee Smelter Gulch is a wonderful spot to spend some time at.
Cooper Lake is typically a rather dried up spot; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is June. North Fork Henson Creek is in close proximity to Cooper Lake and is always a pleasure to visit, and dry warm beds await you at Ouray Chalet Inn. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Henson Creek, and Cooper Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Mill Creek Campground is a perfect local campground.
A day on the slopes of Silverton
is just what you need, and since you're here you can take a hike along the West Fork Trail. The warmest time of the year at Cooper Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. High
temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Cooper Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. The San Juan Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
So many exciting things
to do here in the San Juan Mountains, too delightful to be true. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Ouray is a tremendous place to spend a night or two, and a wonderful spot to camp here at Cooper Lake is Lake City Campground.
