     While you're here at Coons Reservoir you can take a hike along the Courthouse Trail, and High Park Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Coons Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Big Cimarron Campground is a fine location for that; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Cimarron River. Throughout the months of summer at Coons Reservoir
   temperatures are generally in the 80's; the overnight is slightly chillier of course, usually in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Coons Reservoir dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful.
Going for a hike along the Lou Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; a brilliant place to visit nearby is Slagle Pass. At Coons Reservoir you don’t see much rainfall;

               most of the rain falls during September while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. If you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Ouray is a splendid choice, and if you come at the right time of year, Cimarron River offers some fine whitewater.
Ouray Chalet Inn is a splendid location to get some rest, and if you get bored of Coons Reservoir you could also check out nearby Victor Reservoir. Now, you may assume that's plenty but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Coons Reservoir. If you came to camp Beaver Lake Campground is a glorious location to do that; hiking along the Deer Creek Trail is brilliant fun.

Blue Lakes Trail
18 miles away
This description has a few accurate things in it, but the way it's put together, it makes no sense, even to someone who lives here. It jumbles things from Telluride to Silverton in with Blue Lakes Trail. It is indeed beautiful. And you could hike up Sneffels (local 14'er) from this side, if you are fit and up for a very, very long adventure. ...
