Do stop by Lake Constantine while you're in this part of Colorado. A nice site near Lake Constantine is Fall Creek Pass, and there's whitewater on Eagle River for all you adrenaline people. At Lake Constantine you don’t see much rainfall; July is the wettest month with most rain; February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. From Lake Constantine you obtain a great sight of Mount of the Holy Cross, and The Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch is a delightful

| | place to get some rest. You could also visit Whitney Lake if you're here at Lake Constantine; it's close by; hiking along the Main Range Trail is tremendous fun. There are some good whitewater spots on Homestake Creek, and a great site to camp here at Lake Constantine is Half Moon Campground. Having a good time in the Sawatch Range is trouble-free. on the Half Moon Trail, and you can hit the slopes at Beaver Creek close by. Lake Constantine is one of the lakes here in the Sawatch Range. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors cool stuff the Sawatch Range has to offer.

is down it descends down to the 40's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Lake Constantine temperatures fall to the 0's. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Lake Constantine.

I would highly recommend this hike. Make sure you have everything you need for AT LEAST 2 days. The hike to Upper Piney will take 8 hours (all up hill)...But only 4 hours to get back to Piney River Ranch.... |
