This lake is so wonderful. The peak of Blanca Peak can be seen from Lake Como; on a good day you can take a hike along the Huerfano Trail. For the duration of the summertime months, highs mostly are in the 80's at Lake Como. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. For the period of the winter highs       are in the 30's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Lake Como tend to be in the 0's. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. A pretty lake like Blue Lakes near Lake Como is a glorious site to have a look at, and the Ute Trail is a great hiking trail nearby. Lake Como is usually a rather dried out location; the month with most of the rain is August while January is usually the driest                  month. Lakes are such calm places, why not have a look at Little Bear Lake close to Lake Como, and Great Sand Dunes National Monument is a very good location to visit. What a location this is for outdoors people. There's so much to do here at Lake Como that you need to camp here for a while, Great Sand Dunes Oasis is a good place for that; if you need a place to stay Days Inn Alamosa is a great choice.
