There are magnificent places to discover along the Monument Trail, and Bailey Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could stop by. At Columbine Reservoir you don’t see much precipitation; the month with most       of the rain is March, and June is when it's the driest. What a place this is for outdoors folks. Dry warm beds await you at Howard Johnson Express - Cedaredge; there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Green Mountain Trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Columbine Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Weir and Johnson Campground, and Columbine Dam is an exciting thing to check out. If you need a place to stay La Quinta Inn & Suites                  Rifle is a brilliant choice. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the East Leon Trail is always a brilliant adventure, and whitewater paddling is great on Gunnison River. Throughout the months of summer highs here at Columbine Reservoir get into the 80's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's.
