Go to Columbine Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. So much cool stuff to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, too great to be true. Purgatory Campground is a great campground nearby, and if you come at the right time of year, Animas River offers some great whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Hatter Pond is a splendid lake near Columbine Lake, and if you need a site to stay Cascade Village is a good choice. An average amount of precipitation

| | falls at Columbine Lake; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is June. All the outdoors fun stuff close to Columbine Lake will keep you coming back persistently. On a brilliant day at Columbine Lake you can take a hike along the Highline Trail; a scenic lake like Hotter Brothers Lake is a great place to stop at. This lake is so wonderful.
