Howard Johnson Express - Cedaredge is a brilliant place to get some rest; a lake nearby is Chipmunk Reservoir. Weir and Johnson Campground is a good local campground, and fine hiking is available along the Green Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Gunnison River is so much fun, and Powderhorn is a good local ski area. | | in the 50's. Highs during the winter are mostly in the 30's with temperatures at Cole Reservoir Number 2 dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. A good forest near Cole Reservoir Number 2 is Grand Mesa National Forest, and there's perfect hiking along the East Leon Trail.
