Gunnison River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby, and a perfect nearby hotel is Howard Johnson Express - Cedaredge. This lake is so wonderful. At Chipmunk Dam near Cole Reservoir Number 1 there are some interesting things to see, and there's a forest here called Grand Mesa National Forest. You get a splendid view of Leon Peak from Cole Reservoir Number 1, and why not camp at Twin Lake Campground if you're here at Cole Reservoir Number 1. Do go to The

| | Pecks Number Two next to Cole Reservoir Number 1, it's a scenic lake, and there are wonderful places to look at along the East Leon Trail. High temperatures at Cole Reservoir Number 1 through the long summer days are in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Cole Reservoir Number 1. This lake is so wonderful. If you like | |

all you can do here at Cole Reservoir Number 1. Camping is available at Weir and Johnson Campground, and don't leave Cole Reservoir Number 1 without first going for a hike along the Monument Trail. The Pecks Number One is a nearby lake that you could explore, and going for a hike on the Green Mountain Trail is always a wonderful adventure.
