This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Coffin Lake has to offer, you can camp at Trapline Campground; the scenery at McGinnis Meadows Reservoir Dam is pretty. On a great day at Coffin Lake you can take a hike along the South Derby Trail; after a long day outdoors Oak Tree Inn Yampa is a delightful spot to spend a night or two. Summertime highs       at Coffin Lake commonly tend to be in the 80's, and the nighttime is quite colder of course, usually in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Coffin Lake are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Coffin Lake is a perfect location to camp, Bucks Campground is a perfect location, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Ute Trail. While you're here at Coffin Lake you can take a hike along the Oyster Lake                  Trail, and of course Fraser Creek flows through this vicinity. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sweetwater Creek, and if you're here, you could also take a look at gorgeous Anderson Lake. This lake is so wonderful. White River - North Fork has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot nearby, and do set aside some time for Amphitheatre while you're here at Coffin Lake.
