Don't leave Cliff Lake without first going for a hike along the Lost Canyon Stock Driveway, and Cliff Lake is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Echo Basin Ranch is a brilliant local campground. Go for a hike on the Morrison Trail, and Cliff Lake is not the only site close by, McCabe Reservoir is a close by lake. Hesperus Ski Center is a very popular ski area in close proximity; going for a hike on the Chicken Creek Trail is always a splendid adventure.

| | North Rampart Spring is a tremendous local attraction, and don’t forget to go to Coyote Park while you're here at Cliff Lake. At Cliff Lake during the warm months highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 30's. For the duration of the winter the highs are usually in the 30's with temperatures at Cliff Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. if you get bored of Cliff Lake you could also stop at nearby Robbins Reservoir. At Cliff Lake you don’t see much precipitation; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most snow; June on the other hand is the driest.
Dry warm beds await you at Echo Basin Dude And Guest Ranch, LLC. There's so much to do here at Cliff Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Transfer Campground is a great site for that. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent
vista of beautiful Rampart Hills is available from Cliff Lake; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Horse Creek. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things near Cliff Lake. If you need a place to stay Dunton Hot Springs
is a tremendous choice. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. The vistas at Mesa Verde National Park will blow your mind, and Hells Hole is an attention-grabbing thing to make out while you're here.

Summit Reservoir
 | 12 miles away Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed.... |

Mormon Reservoir
 | 13 miles away The Mormon Reservoir is located on Hay gulch stream before it flows into La Plata River. In the late 1920's the Mormon Church in Utah paid to have the damn across Hay Gulch constructed for the Mormon village of Red Mesa. Water is stored in the reservoir until it is needed for farmers at Red Mesa. The water is released into the La Plata River and is measured for agricultural purposes during the drier part of the summer. Young men from Red Mesa built frame buildings on the rocky and wooded west hillside going into Hay Gulch. Until the damn was completed the workers stayed in these dwellings. All of the work on the earthen damn was done by hand and horse drawn equipment. Dynamite was used to blast boulders used on the damn to hold the water in place until needed. The impounded water becomes undrinkable by early summer when it has a strong odor. Water dogs (salamanders) and tadpoles become prolific as the summer advances. Puett Reservoir

It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company.
