Float down the rapids of Clear Creek - West Fork in a kayak; Berthoud Pass is a very popular ski area in close proximity. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Clayton Lake you can take a hike along the King Lake Trail, and a good close by hotel is Zephyr Mountain Lodge. Spruce Lodge Campground is a good local campground, and at Clayton Lake you can observe Mount Epworth. All through the warm months at Clayton       Lake highs are usually in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are regularly in the 20's while Clayton Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 0's. Have a good hiking adventure along the James Peak Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Reynolds Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore, and why not camp at Midland Campground while you're here at Clayton Lake. Near Clayton                  Lake you discover splendid spots like Riflesight Notch, and Winter Park has wonderful slopes and a friendly staff. It is very dry here at Clayton Lake typically; the wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is February. Having a magnificent time at Clayton Lake is uncomplicated. If you need a spot to stay Iron Horse Resort is a splendid choice; paddling on Boulder Creek is so much fun.
