Many people like to go to Clayton Lake. Clayton Lake is a location that is reasonably waterless regularly; August is the wettest month with most rain; February is when it's the driest. Why not camp at Spruce Lodge Campground while you're here at Clayton Lake, and nearby you come across wonderful sites like Riflesight Notch. This lake is so wonderful. Near Clayton Lake you hit upon the South Boulder Creek Trail which is a splendid hiking trail, and the panorama of Mount Epworth is lovely. Get your heart beating on the tremendous whitewater of Clear Creek - West Fork; camping is available at Midland Campground.

70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Clayton Lake. Clayton Lake in fact is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise. Whitewater
paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Boulder Creek, and if you need a site to stay Beaver Village Condominiums is a fine choice.
Winter Park has glorious slopes and a friendly staff, and do have a look at Arapaho Lakes, it's a pretty lake.
