Sure, Lake Marie is in the vicinity. This lake is so wonderful. Lower Park is a pretty spot any time of year; charming scenery and great skiing is what you get at Silverton. For the duration of the months of summer, highs generally are in the 70's at City Reservoir while night lows are usually in the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows through the wintertime       for City Reservoir tend to be in the 0's. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors fun stuff the area right next door to City Reservoir has to offer. Skiing at Kendall Mountain is one of those things you just must do, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Durango Reservoir Number 1. And that's not all you can do here at City Reservoir. City Reservoir is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Blue Spruce                  Trailer Park is a delightful local campground. Near City Reservoir you hit upon the Deer Park Trail which is a splendid hiking trail, and a good place for whitewater paddling is Animas River. Around City Reservoir you don’t get a lot of precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is June. City Reservoir is located in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby Crystal Valley is a splendid location to go if you're at City Reservoir; get your heart beating on the wonderful whitewater of Vallecito Creek. If you came to camp Vallecito Campground is a tremendous place to do that; there is a good hiking trail close by called the Whitehead Trail. Just can't get enough of the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Here at City Reservoir you can distinguish Endlich Mesa, and going for a hike on the Pine-Piedra Stock Driveway is always a great adventure. And if that's not sufficient there's loads more amusing stuff to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains.
