This lake is so wonderful. Beaver Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth a visit; why not take a refreshing hike along the East Leon Trail. Take a hike on the Monument Trail, and why not camp at Weir and Johnson Campground if you're here at Chipmunk Reservoir. Some glorious nature is available in Grand Mesa National Forest, and splendid water scenery is       available at Chipmunk Dam next to Chipmunk Reservoir. Chipmunk Reservoir gets very little precipitation; March is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is June. But wait, there's more to do close to Chipmunk Reservoir. After a long day outdoors Howard Johnson Express - Cedaredge is a glorious spot to spend a night or two, and the Green Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Chipmunk Reservoir is nice                  fun, Twin Lake Campground is a nice local campground, and whitewater paddling is good on Gunnison River. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Chipmunk Reservoir, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's while Chipmunk Reservoir night low temperatures through the winter are in the 0's. Head up to Powderhorn and strap some skis to your feet; most likely you're looking for nearby lakes?
