There is a great hiking trail near Chipmunk Reservoir called the North Fork Dry Creek Trail; a picturesque lake like Pine Squirrel Reservoir is a great place to go to. Near Chipmunk Reservoir you find the Hot Creek Stock Driveway which is a pleasant hiking trail, and Chipmunk Reservoir is splendid enough       to spend more than a day at, Alamosa Campground is a splendid local campground. Budget Host Monte Villa Inn Monte Vista is a splendid place to get some rest; you'll locate a pretty lake called Wren Reservoir. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! The Alamosa                  River Trail is a splendid hiking trail right next door to Chipmunk Reservoir, and camping at Rock Creek Campground is always a glorious experience. Throughout the long summer days at Chipmunk Reservoir temperatures are commonly in the 70's. Summer night lows dip down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and night lows in the 0's for Chipmunk Reservoir.
