Cherry Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. High temperatures at Cherry Lake throughout the summertime are in the 80's while night lows are frequently in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Cherry Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. | | vicinity of Cherry Lake is a nice location to take a look at, and get your heart beating on the perfect whitewater of Arkansas River.
Cherry Lake gets very little rainfall; through August this area sees the most rain while January is ordinarily the driest month. If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Yep, outdoors enjoyable stuff truly is bountiful here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Kolkman Basin is a great location to stretch your legs a bit, and the Crossover Trail is a delightful hiking trail nearby.
This lake is so wonderful. A trip to Henderson Gulch is always fun; after a long day outdoors AppleLodge Bed And Breakfast is a great place to spend a night or two. But wait, there's more to do near Cherry Lake. You'll find a delightful
lake called Cotton Lake near Cherry Lake, and Mount Owen is easy to spot from Cherry Lake.

 | Trail is awful, disappearing and reappearing every now and again. Thorn bushes and trash cover what little trail is easy to navigate. Trail disappears completely before you actually reach the lake. Also it appears that an axe murderer has taken up residence in the upperwoods. Be careful and travel in large groups if you plan to try and make it to the lake. It is easy to get lost so mark your trail well.... |
