Rocky Wash Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could go to. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Wine Country Inn, and what would winter be without some skiing at Powderhorn. What a site this is for outdoors folks. King Creek is in the vicinity of Cheney Reservoir and is always a bliss to take a look at, and       going for a hike on the Whitewater Basin Trail is always a glorious adventure. Cheney Reservoir gets very little rainfall; October is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month of the year is January. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Kannah Creek, and don't leave Cheney Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Spring Camp Trail. There's so much to do here at Cheney Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Rv Ranch Grand Junction                  is a glorious location for that, and float down the rapids of Kannah Creek in a kayak. While you're here at Cheney Reservoir, you could also go to delightful McDonald Reservoir. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Cheney Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Grand Junction/Clifton Campground. During the months of summer at Cheney Reservoir highs are commonly in the 90's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. Through the wintertime highs are frequently in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Cheney Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful.
