Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things in the Front Range. Do explore Westcreek Lake close to Cheesman Lake, it's a lovely lake, and Wigwam Campground is a good campground nearby. Cheesman Lake is a location that is relatively dried up mostly; the wettest month of the year is frequently July, that's the one that rains the most while January is typically the driest month. The       summit of Cheesman Mountain can be distinguished from Cheesman Lake; if you need a place to stay Country Lodge is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. A scenic lake like Hoder Recreation Reservoir near Cheesman Lake is a magnificent place to pop by; get soaked paddling on South Platte River. You believe that's enough? Just getting warmed up. If the weather is magnificent here at Cheesman Lake, you can go for a hike along the Longwater Trail, and there's some                  flowing water close by, Goose Creek is a stream you can have a look at while here. Paddling on South Platte River is so much fun, and TownePlace Suites Denver Southwest/Littleton is a good site to get some rest. All year is a good time in the Front Range if you have a thing about the outdoors. Cheesman Dam is not far at all from Cheesman Lake, and the sights at Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument will blow your mind. This lake is so wonderful. On a tremendous day at Cheesman Lake you can take a hike along the Phantom Creek Trail, and close by Flickenstein Gulch is a good place to go. The Front Range scenery is always beautiful. Summer at Cheesman Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's. During the winter highs are in the 30's, and night lows through the winter for Cheesman Lake tend to be in the 0's.
