If you need a place to stay Alpine Trail Ridge Inn is a great choice, and camping is available at Glacier Basin Campground. Yeah, come up here to the Front Range for a perfect time. A great place in close proximity to Chasm Lake is Granite Pass; don't leave Chasm Lake without first going for a hike along the Boulder Brook Trail. All the outdoors cool things in the Front Range will keep you coming back many       times. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Saint Vrain Creek - North, and at Chasm Lake you can see Battle Mountain. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff right next door to Chasm Lake. A splendid location to camp here at Chasm Lake is Longs Peak Campground, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Berthoud Pass since you're here. If you get bored of Chasm Lake, you could also go to nearby Peacock Pool, and a pleasant                  trip to Boulder Field is a perfect way to spend an afternoon. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Go for a hike on the Long Peak Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Marys Lake Lodge. All through the days of summer highs here at Chasm Lake reach the 70's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 30's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's, and night lows at Chasm Lake during the winter generally descend into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. A trip to Chasm Lake wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Columbine Falls; there are good locations to look at along the East Longs Peak Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Saint Vrain Creek - South for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and Chasm View is a good site to explore while in the vicinity. Not much rain falls here at Chasm Lake; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; November is when it's the driest. Be careful coming to the Front Range, you might not ever want to return home again. Rocky Mountain National Park is a very good location to stop by close to Chasm Lake, and a lake close by is Keplinger Lake.
