If you are in this part of Colorado make sure to pay a visit to Lake Charles. So much enjoyable stuff near Lake Charles, truly mind-blowing. Camping at Yeoman Park Campground is always a nice experience, and Lake Charles is not far at all from Edwards. This lake is so wonderful. Very delightful scenery and great skiing is what you get at Vail; if you need a site to stay Hyatt Mountain Lodge is a glorious choice. But wait, there's more amusing things to do in

| | the Sawatch Range. Whitewater paddling is pleasant on Fryingpan River, and Eagle Peak is clearly visible from Lake Charles. The Ironedge Trail is a fine hiking trail close to Lake Charles, and get wet paddling on Eagle River. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sawatch Range. local campground. It is very dried out here at Lake Charles frequently; most of the rain falls all through July; February on the other hand is the driest. While you're here at Lake Charles it's a nice idea to explore Gold Dust
Basin, and what would winter be without some skiing at Beaver Creek. This lake is so wonderful. A good nearby hotel is Arrowhead Village, and there is a delightful hiking trail nearby called the New York Mountain Trail. Lakes are
such peaceful spots, why not explore Mystic Island Lake right next door to Lake Charles, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Lake Charles Trail. Yep, outdoors cool stuff to do are beyond doubt plentiful here at Lake
Charles. Lake Charles is one of the lakes here in the Sawatch Range. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Lake Charles. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Lake Charles fall into the 0's.

LEDE Reservoir
 | 11 miles away Beautiful drive up to Lede Reservoir. We started in Eagle and took Sylvan Lake road all the way past the lake and then took a right at the first intersection. After climbing up and around the peak in front of us we were upon some huge rolling meadows that were among the forrests. A slight drop down into the valley on the west side of the mountains and a left turn lead us to the reservoir. It is a great spot with some fishing paths around the water and a number of campsites as well. We continued west to Gypsum Creek Road and a short drive back to the town of Gypsum.... |
