The beauty of Chapman Lake is reason enough to stop by. Elk Wallow Campground is a glorious local campground, and a great nearby hotel is VillaHotel La Niche. Now, you may think that's lots but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Sawatch Range. Dearhamer Campground is a wonderful campground nearby, and the Chapman Trail is a great hiking trail close by. And if that's not enough there's plenty more amusing things to do in the Sawatch Range. | | at Aspen Highlands is one of those things you just ought to do, and VillaHotel Bears Creek is a brilliant place to get some rest.
This lake is so wonderful. Twin Meadows is a beautiful spot any time of year, and whitewater paddling is brilliant on Fryingpan River. Chapman Lake is pretty dehydrated mostly; during the month of July you get the most rain around here, and February is when it's the driest. Chapman Lake is one of the lakes here in the Sawatch Range.

Nearby Chapman Gulch is a great place to go if you're at Chapman Lake; get wet paddling on Roaring Fork. What a place this is for outdoors people. This lake is so wonderful. Ivanhoe Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be
worth going to; going for a hike on the Last Chance Trail is always a pleasant adventure.
Summer brings highs in the 80's to Chapman Lake. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. All through the
wintertime the highs are typically in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Chapman Lake. Chapman Dam is a location that is next to Chapman Lake, and since you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Edwards.
Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things in close proximity to Chapman Lake. Near Chapman Lake you come across the Sawyer Lake Trail which is a good hiking trail, and you can never get enough of the pleasant skiing at Aspen Mountain.
